I had the pleasure of helping Henry plan his romantic picnic proposal. He was looking for a quiet beach near Newquay for his epic proposal, even though it was a busy weekend during the school half term. Nonetheless, Henry was open to an adventure and I knew exactly where to go. Although there was a slight uncertainty due to the tides, I was confident that the chosen location would provide a picturesque backdrop and an excellent opportunity for a beach photoshoot.
Henry’s vision for the shoot was truly amazing and we discussed various ideas. I suggested he organised a picnic as part of the proposal plan. On the day, everything fell into place seamlessly. Collaborating with ‘Pretty as a Picnic,’ we arrived early to prepare for the proposal. Henry had cleverly found a way to step out briefly and meet us beforehand. What he had arranged was truly remarkable – a breathtaking Polaroid walkway showcasing key moments in his and Kasia’s relationship. It was a heartwarming gesture that put the rest of us to shame with our own proposal efforts!
The clifftop, despite the initial concerns, turned out to be the perfect setting for Henry’s proposal. With picture perfect views, stunning evening sunshine and the picnic added an extra touch of romance to the scene. As Henry guided Kasia along his Polaroid walkway, each photograph bought back memories of the time they had spent with each other so far.
Henry’s meticulous planning and thoughtfulness left everyone involved, especially Kasia, awe-inspired.

The timings were perfect and Pretty as a Picnic began to unravel the delicious delights minutes before Henry and Katia arrived ensuring everything was fresh and looked perfect.
We all hid behind a wall and watched as Henry and Kasia arrived. It couldn’t have been a better evening for it – the stars aligned and Henry got his girl!
After the emotional proposal, we introduced ourselves, took a few photos and let the newly engaged couple enjoy the moment and soak in the view. We came back to finish off with some lovely sunset portraits and then left them to enjoy the rest of their evening. It was truly magical and since the proposal I have been invited back to photograph their wedding in St Ives next year – I can not wait!
